Training

Every governor should take advantage of the training available through their LA Governor Support Unit in order to acquire and update their knowledge and skills. This section of the site contains useful information about the LA training programmes available.

The Central South Consortium recognises the importance of governors and the key role that they play in supporting and challenging their schools. To support them in this valuable role Central South Consortium is, from September 2016, delivering the mandatory training sessions for governors. Alongside these mandatory sessions the Consortium will also deliver a number of sessions which are pertinent to their role in school improvement. The termly briefings which proved very useful last year will continue and the themes of these will again focus on priorities related to school improvement and the work of the Consortium.

For access to courses please contact your Local Authority Governor Support Officer for a user name and password. Each time you access the site thereafter, your work will be logged and on completion a certificate demonstrating proof of that will be issued in your name.
