The report provides an in-depth look at how each sector in Wales is performing. You can access an overview of each sector as well as key themes, case studies and thematic reviews.
The report indicates the self-evaluation is a ‘system wide concern.’ There is certainly variance in how schools and governors undergo this area of work. “Too often, however, self-evaluation is superficial, compliance-driven and insufficiently focused on learners’ progress.”
The report also highlights an excellent spotlight from Ysgol Rhydaman, Carmarthenshire where governor and staff involvement in self-evaluation is a high priority. Well worth looking at.
So all in all plenty to reflect on.
